“The Tverskoy Court of Moscow received petitions from the investigation to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention against six people suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal turnover of means of payment”),” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

“According to the investigation, they have special knowledge in the field of international payment systems and are suspected of committing crimes in the field of computer technology, technology and the Internet information and communication network,” the court noted.

Denis Pachevsky, general director of Saratovfilm Film Company LLC, Alexander Kovalev, an individual entrepreneur, Artem Bystrykh, an employee of Transtekhkom LLC, Artem Zaitsev, an employee of Get-net LLC, and two unemployed workers, Vladislav Gilev and Yaroslav Solovyov, were detained.

This group became the third whose activities were suppressed by law enforcement officers since the beginning of 2022.

Earlier, 13 members of the Revil hacker group were arrested, one of whose members pleaded guilty. According to the US administration, at least one of the detained members of the hacker group was involved in the attack on the Colonial Pipeline.

Fear reigns in the ransomware community after the mass arrests. Cybercriminals no longer believe that Russia is a safe haven for their activities. Some attackers began to discuss the pros and cons of moving their operations to India, China, the Middle East, or even Israel.
