The Spanish railway company Adif has fallen victim to the REvil ransomware. Adif is a state-owned firm that oversees rail infrastructure, manages rail traffic, and charges rail operators.

As a result of two successful malicious campaigns, the attackers said they were able to steal about 800 GB of data, including personal information and accounting data.

“If you do not comply with our requirements, the stolen data will be published in the public domain. We will continue to download your information until you contact us. A third attack will follow simultaneously with the publication, ”the cybercriminals said.

A spokesman for Adif confirmed the cyberattacks to The Daily Swig and said that the railway infrastructure was not damaged.
