A resident of Pervouralsk, a mother of four children, Lyudmila Islamova, faces a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 6 years for using a pirated version of the 1C program. The

woman is accused of violating copyright and related rights. The maximum punishment is provided for aggravating circumstances: damage on an especially large scale and the fact that the crime, according to the investigation, was committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.

According to the E1 portal, Islamova was the founder of a small company for the production of pipeline parts. A year ago, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Sverdlovsk Region (OBEP), during an audit of the company, discovered an unlicensed 1C program on 7 out of 14 computers.

The defendant claims that she had a license to use the program for 23 jobs, with a margin. At the same time, representatives of 1C have no claim to Islamova. The developer entered into a settlement agreement with Islamova after she paid the company a fine of 165 thousand rubles. Nevertheless, the damage that the company inflicted on the copyright holders of 1C was estimated at 2.6 million rubles.
