A group of fraudsters stole 9 million rubles from bank cards of two Moscow pensioners, said Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk.

“Two elderly women turned to the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Yasenevo district, who reported that intruders had called on their mobile phones and claimed compensation for previously purchased goods. Unknown people asked pensioners to give their bank card numbers and codes that they received via SMS messages. Having fulfilled these requirements, one of the women discovered writing off more than 2 million rubles from her account, the other - over 7 million rubles, ”said Volk.

Criminal investigation officers managed to detain four men suspected of committing this crime in the capital, as well as in the Tambov and Ulyanovsk regions. The court arrested two suspects, two more are on bail.
