Gary Bowser worked with Team Xecuter to create a device for the Nintendo Switch that lets you run games on your console without buying them. Gary Bowser, one of the leaders of Team-Xecuter, pleaded guilty to a high-profile lawsuit initiated by Nintendo. Recall that Bowser, along with his colleague, was detained in the Dominican Republic in October last year, after which they were extradited to the United States at the request of law enforcement agencies. Bowser initially denied any accusations against him, but last week he changed his position and pleaded guilty. Bowser also volunteered to pay Nintendo $ 4.5 million in compensation. He also agreed to help find all of Team-Xecuter's remaining assets.

Despite a plea agreement, Bowser faces up to five years in prison. Facilitating the investigation provides a chance for a commutation of the sentence, but the government does not provide any guarantees. At the same time, other charges were removed from the hacker, because of which the maximum term could have been much longer.
