The hacker became a defendant in a criminal case on the creation and distribution of a malicious program. In the Voronezh region, a 30-year-old hacker was convicted of creating a malicious program to hack electronic wallets, the press service of the FSB department for the region reported. In October 2018, a man created a computer program to tamper with the bank details of wire transfer recipients. After that, he sold his development on one of the "hacker" forums at a price of 800 to 1200 rubles. FSB officers detained the entrepreneur red-handed in June 2019 during a "test purchase".

They managed to prove seven illegal transactions. Criminal cases were opened under Part 1 of Art. 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation, distribution of a computer program, deliberately intended for unauthorized modification and blocking of computer information) and Part 2 of Art. 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation, distribution of computer programs, deliberately intended for unauthorized modification and blocking of computer information, committed out of selfish interest).

Themis servants sentenced the accused to a suspended sentence of three years' imprisonment with a probationary period of 2.5 years. The verdict can be appealed within ten days.
