The management of the Telegram messenger can be imposed millions of fines for non-compliance with the laws of Germany, according to the Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany Marko Buschmann. German Justice Minister Marko Buschmann said that Telegram, like other IT companies, is obliged to appoint an official representative to resolve legal issues in the country, as well as create a mechanism for notifications of illegal content. According to Bushman, Telegram has failed to comply with legal requirements to this day. That is why the country's authorities have already several times initiated the imposition of a fine on the company.
“If the next attempt to deliver the notification fails, the next step will be a public notification. After that, we can impose a monetary fine. Our laws provide for millions of fines, ”the minister said.
Now the German authorities are sending inquiries to the United Arab Emirates, where Telegram is headquartered. But, according to them, the letters do not reach the addressee at all.
