The German Prosecutor General’s Office issued a warrant for the arrest of Russian Dmitry Badin, suspected of carrying out a cyber attack on the Bundestag in 2015. According to the newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung, investigators identified two Russian cybercriminals, but there is evidence only on Badin. According to the prosecutor's office, the young man is a member of the cybercrime group Fancy Bear (also known as APT28).

“The Prosecutor General’s Office is convinced that it will be able to prove not only that Dmitry Badin personally participated in the cyber attack on the Bundestag, but also when and how it was carried out,” the publication said.

Recall that the U.S. authorities put forward in July 2018absentee accusation of alleged 12 employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces as part of an investigation into the hacking of the servers of the US Democratic Party on the eve of the 2016 presidential election. Among the suspects was also Dmitry Badin.
