One of the alleged leaders of the hacker group The Infraud Organization, Andrey Novak, has fully admitted his guilt and is cooperating with the investigation, as well as three ordinary members of this structure, follows from the court materials, which RIA Novosti has read.

According to the materials, on January 21, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow detained Novak until March 18 under the "hacker" article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "illegal circulation of means of payment by an organized group."

The media call him one of the leaders of the large hacker group The Infraud Organization, but Russian law enforcement agencies do not officially comment on this topic. The court records seen by the agency do not mention The Infraud Organization's name.

“Novak independently appeared at the investigative department for the Tverskoy district with a confession, reported on the crimes committed, which actively contributed to the investigation, voluntarily issued all the required documents to the investigating authorities, provided passwords for his technical equipment,” follows from the appeal of the defense against Novak’s arrest. .
According to the material, Novak also "given incriminating evidence against persons engaged in criminal activities, handed over to the investigating authorities access to his cryptocurrency assets."

The defense assures that Novak “does not intend to hide and is ready for full cooperation with the investigation,” in connection with which he asks to be released from the pre-trial detention center under a milder measure of restraint.

The materials also contain information that within the framework of the case, three more pre-trial agreements on cooperation with the investigation were concluded with other defendants: Kirill Samokutyaev, Konstantin and Mark Bergman, who also testified against the "other participants."

Novak faces a maximum prison sentence of up to seven years. Three other defendants are charged under a less serious article - "Illegal access to computer information, causing damage or out of selfish interest", the maximum sanction for which is four years in a colony. Pre-trial agreements can ease their punishments.

The US Department of Justice names The Infraud Organization as one of the largest hacker groups involved in IT crimes in the United States. According to the department, the damage from its activities amounted to at least $530 million.

In February 2018, the US Department of Justice filed charges in absentia against 36 alleged Infraud hackers, including the likely leader, Ukrainian Svyatoslav Bondarenko, known as Obnon and Rector.

Among the other 35 defendants is the Russian Andrei Sergeevich Novak (the initials match the materials from the court), known by the nicknames Unicc and Faaxxx, as well as other people from different parts of the world, from France and the USA to Egypt and Pakistan.

In Russia, nothing was officially reported about the detention of members of this group. Last January, following individual Telegram channels, some media outlets wrote about the arrest of a number of hackers in Moscow, citing sources. The courts and law enforcement agencies did not comment on these data.
