The leadership of the American social network Facebook refused to pay a fine of 3 thousand rubles for refusing to provide Roskomnadzor with information about the localization of data from Russians.

This was reported by Kommersant, citing its sources.

According to the publication, the fine ordered to pay another April 12, the justice of the peace plot number 422 in the Tagansky district of the capital. The decision entered into force on June 25, companies were given 60 days to pay a fine voluntarily. Case materials do not disclose information on the enforcement of the judgment. The court has sent all the necessary requests, and a response is expected.

Lawyers believe that now it will be necessary to institute proceedings in California jurisdiction in order to recover money from the American company. In the Russian Federation, the social network does not have a representative office, and the nearest one is located in Warsaw.

It’s not the first time Facebook has violated Russian laws: for example, ILV discovered that political advertising was circulating on the social network right before the elections in Russia, but the agency warned that such campaigning on the day of silence was unacceptable
