As a precaution, user passwords have been reset, and the next time you log in, you will need to set new ones.

The American manufacturer of Internet radio Zello reported the leakage of data of its users, in particular their email addresses and password hashes.

Zello is a mobile service with 140 million users that allows you to use your smartphone as a Push-To-Talk (PTT) radio. On July 8, 2020, unauthorized activity was detected on its servers, according to company representatives. The company promptly initiated an investigation, turned to a "leading independent forensic firm" for help, and reported the incident to law enforcement.

While Zello does not elaborate on whether the attackers gained access to its database, this appears to have happened. Zello Work and Zello for First Responders users were not affected by the incident, according to the company's notice.

As a precaution, Zello reset user passwords, and the next time they log in, they will need to set new ones.

PTT is a voice communication standard with a two-way radio interface and the ability to transmit a signal simultaneously in only one direction. To switch between receiving and transmitting modes, the user needs to press / release the corresponding button on the radio device.
