Matyaz Skoryants has already served his sentence, but the US authorities brought him new charges.

The administrator of the famous cybercrime forum Darkode, and part-time operator of the botnet Mariposa, was arrested in Germany. According to journalist Brian Krebs, last week the police arrested a Slovenian citizen, Matjaž Škorjanc, also known as Iserdo, on an international warrant issued in the United States.

In December 2013, Skoryants was sentenced by a court in the United States to four years and ten months in prison for creating malware and managing the powerful Mariposa botnet, known since 2008. After serving his sentence, Skoryants was released in 2018, but already in June of this year against him and his three accomplices, Florencio Carro Ruiz (Florencio Carro Ruiz), Mentor Leniki (Mentor Leniqi) and Thomas McCormick (Thomas McCormick), the US Attorney's Office new charges are brought.

Skoryants's new arrest in Germany coincided with the liquidation by the German authorities of the hosting platforms whose services were used by the illegal trading platforms of the darknet. Law enforcement officials arrested seven service operators, including four Dutch citizens, two German citizens and one Bulgarian citizen.
