The attacker demanded ransom for the restoration of data from victims.

The prosecutor's office of the Leninsky district sent a criminal case to the court on charges of a 26-year-old resident of Yaroslavl in 6 episodes of the use and distribution of malicious computer programs.

In the period from 2014 to 2015, Yaroslavl, using remote access and special software, selected credentials for computers of organizations in the Kemerovo, Tyumen and Kurgan regions, in the Republic of Mordovia and the Stavropol Territory. The attacker has injected into the system of a malicious program and blocked access to databases. Next, the offender demanded a ransom from the victims in the amount of 3 to 6 thousand rubles for the restoration of information.

He committed this crime while on probation for similar actions.

A young man is charged under Part 2 of Art. 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use and distribution of malicious computer programs committed out of mercenary interest).

The criminal case was sent to the Leninsky District Court of Yaroslavl.
