The US District Court sentenced Muhammad Fahd to 12 years in prison for unlocking smartphones for years. In the United States, the trial of the hacking of almost 2 million smartphones has ended. Pakistani Muhammad Fahd, who has been involved in a kind of "help" to AT&T clients for almost seven years, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. The American multinational telecommunications conglomerate has accused the Pakistani of causing damages of more than $ 201 million. The beginning of such a specific career of Fahd was laid by a bribe that he gave to an AT&T employee in 2012 in order to obtain a method of unlocking smartphones. Fahd later went on to hire a specialist to create malware that was injected into AT&T's system to make the unlocking process easier.

Fahd was arrested in Hong Kong in 2018 and then extradited to the United States. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit computer fraud in September 2020.
