The members of the group made duplicates of bank cards
In Kiev, an organized criminal group will be tried for inflicting more than 1.5 million hryvnia losses on the bank.
This is reported by the Kiev Cyber Police on Facebook.
The members of the group, using skimming devices, made duplicates of bank cards, from which they later withdrawn cash.
"These devices were installed by the persons involved in the tent of the ATM card reader. At the same time, they installed mini-cameras aimed at the pin-keyboard, which recorded the information entered," the message says.
Subsequently, the members of the group made duplicates of cards, of which they carried out about four thousand cashing operations. Thus, the state bank suffered more than UAH 1.5 million in losses.
In September 2020, the criminal group was exposed. Law enforcement officers have completed a pre-trial investigation. Attackers face up to 12 years in prison.
