The network has put up for sale data of 60 million credit cards, allegedly owned by Sberbank customers.

On the black market on the Web, data are put up for sale, supposedly owned by Sberbank customers.

The financial organization became aware of the incident on Wednesday evening, October 2. According to a press release from Sberbank, a possible leak of credit card entries affects at least 200 people. However, the sellers themselves assure that they have at their disposal information on 60 million credit cards, both valid and closed (currently the bank has about 18 million active cards), Kommersant writes.

The seller provides the “trial” fragment of the 200-line database to potential buyers for review. It contains information on customers of Sberbank's Ural territorial bank, including personal data and details about a credit card and transactions with it. The cost of data is 5 rubles. per line.

Apparently, the leak could have occurred on August 24 of this year. The words way4 and w4 indicated in the database probably refer to the Way4 processing platform used by Sberbank.

Currently, financial institution specialists are conducting an internal investigation into a potential leak. The main version of the investigation is that the data was stolen and "leaked" by some of the employees, since the database is isolated from the Network and it is possible to penetrate it only from the inside. The likelihood of obtaining data by “breaking through” customers by bribing an employee of a financial institution is also excluded.

“In any case, the stolen information does not threaten the safety of customers’ funds, ”Sberbank says.
