Police are conducting activities to identify additional episodes of the detainee’s illegal activities.

A resident of the Moscow Region attacked bank customers in the capital when they withdraw money from an ATM. This was reported on the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow.

A 47-year-old resident of the capital turned to the police department. The woman said that when she was at the self-service device of one of the banks on Sannikov Street, an unknown man approached her from behind and, threatening with an object similar to a knife, demanded that he transfer the money she had removed from her bank card. After the woman complied with the attacker's request, he hid in an unknown direction.

Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Internal Affairs Directorate in the North-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Otradnoye district, detained the suspect. It turned out to be a previously convicted 33-year-old resident of the Moscow region. The knife was removed.

According to the information provided by him during the interrogation (the corresponding video materials were posted along with the Ministry of Internal Affairs), the incident occurred near Sberbank on October 31 in the evening. The attacker stole 70 thousand rubles from the victim. He also reported another similar incident, which took place a few days later: then he managed to seize the sum of 2 thousand rubles. The defendant told the police that at the moment he was not working and went to the crimes, as he needed money. By his own admission, he had previously served 12 years in prison for murder. The man said that during the attacks he was sober, and told the police that he repented of his deed.
