According to the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Altai Territory, a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), against a former inspector of the Federal Tax Service, who embezzled money from 27 home buyers.

As you know, the tax legislation of Russia provides for the return of 13% of the cost of housing purchased into property to citizens. The compensation is called "tax deduction" and is paid when a citizen applies to the tax authority.

Taking advantage of the fact that tax compensation is carried out in a sufficiently long period of time, and therefore the recipient of compensation cannot know exactly when and what amounts will be transferred to him, the named employee of the tax service decided to cheat.

“On behalf of a number of citizens, he provided the tax authority with deliberately false information about the facts of the acquisition of real estate, after which, using the passwords of the latter, he unlawfully entered inaccurate information into the software from the office computers of the inspection employees, as a result of which the funds in the form of a tax deduction were transferred to previously found bank cards of third parties ", - reported in the prosecutor's office of the Altai Territory.

As a result of the employee's fraudulent actions, nearly three dozen clients of the Federal Tax Service suffered damage of 4 million rubles.

The fraudster is currently awaiting trial, which will decide on his guilt and responsibility. His property was arrested for 900 thousand rubles.
