The offshore bank Cayman National Bank on the Isle of Man confirmed a data leak as a result of the hack, Medusa reports.

The bank does not disclose the scale of the leak. UnicornRiot claims that the amount of data stolen is comparable to the Panama archive. Hackers, according to UnicornRiot, gained access to data and accounts of at least 3,800 companies, funds and individuals. This includes customers from Cyprus, the United Kingdom and the British Virgin Islands.

Motherboard website reported the hacking on November 17, and hacker Phineas Fisher claimed responsibility for data theft. He called the attack politically motivated and called on other hackers to join the "fight against inequality and capitalism."

Phineas Fischer is associated with the Anonymous group (valid since 2003). Fisher took responsibility for hacking the British-German manufacturer of video surveillance systems Gamma Group and for an attack on the servers of the Italian Hacking Team, which produces software for hacking ordered by the police and special services. In addition, in 2016 during an attempted military coup in Turkey, Fisher announced the hacking of computers of the country's ruling party.
