One of the largest record companies Warner Music Group was the victim of a cyberattack, which could lead to the leakage of personal and financial information of customers of the company's online stores.

According to the report , the hackers compromised a number of the company's online trading platforms, which were hosted and maintained by an external provider. Although the investigation did not reveal any signs of data theft, Warner Music admits that personal and financial data (name, email address, phone number, billing and purchase addresses, payment card details) of users who visited the compromised sites during the period from April 25 to August 5, 2020.

It is noted that the incident did not affect payments made through the PayPal payment system. Although the company does not disclose the details of the attack or information about who might be the organizer, cybersecurity experts believe that we are talking about the so-called Magecart attack, in which cybercriminals infect online store websites with malicious JavaScript designed to collect payment data from customers. ...

Recently, cybersecurity researchers have noticed a new tactic by Magecart groups - attackers have begun using the encrypted Telegram messenger as a channel to send stolen credit card data to C&C servers.
