Google continues to restrict the advertising of cryptocurrency related projects. However, his protection does not present any particular problems for scammers.

CoinCorner UK cryptocurrency marketing director Molly Spiers said Thursday that the company cannot advertise on the platform while fraudulent ads appear on its behalf.

“@GoogleAds does not allow @CoinCorner, a full-fledged company with a long history, to advertise on its platform, but does it allow a phishing site? Please note @Google! ” She wrote.

Google missed fraudulent ads, and the real crypto company was denied cryptowiki.ru

According to the presented screenshot, in their ad, attackers use a modified domain and the original name of the company. It is curious that the word "bitcoin" in the fraudulent version was omitted, which probably helped to pass moderation. The site by reference is also a copy of this CoinCorner with the difference that all the data stored on it will be in the hands of fraudsters and will be used to crack user accounts. The exchange complained to Google about the problem, but this has not yet yielded results.

“We’ve been trying to get into GoogleAds for several years, with more than enough evidence that we are a full-fledged company,” said Spiers. “It's a shame, and not only from a business perspective, but also with regard to protecting our customers!”

It is noteworthy that initially, Google introduced restrictions on the advertising of cryptocurrency projects specifically to combat fraud. In 2018, the company partially lifted the restrictions by allowing ads to be placed on regulated exchanges in the United States and Japan.
