A group of activists called DDoSecrets has posted 296 GB of data to the Web that they claim to have been stolen from more than 200 police stations and law enforcement centers throughout the United States.

The data leak, called BlueLeaks, was published on a public portal and contains more than a million files, such as scanned documents, videos, emails, audio files, etc.

According to DDoSecrets, most files are police and FBI reports, security bulletins, and law enforcement guides over the past 24 years. Some of the files also allegedly contain confidential and personal information, such as names, bank account numbers, and phone numbers.

According to DDoSecrets, BlueLeaks data was "kindly provided by Anonymous members." The data was stolen as a result of hacking systems of the Texas company Netsential, which serves a number of state law enforcement resources for data exchange.

The National Fusion Center Association (NFCA) has verified the leak in the internal security alert.
