The court found Ilya Sachkov guilty of transferring secret data to foreign intelligence services.

On July 26, the Moscow City Court passed a sentence on the founder of Group-IB, Ilya Sachkov. He was found guilty of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code) and sent to a strict regime colony for 14 years. The defense does not agree with the decision of the court and intends to appeal it.

Earlier, she asked the prosecutor to sentence Sachkov to 18 years in prison. The defense insisted on justification.

The treason case was submitted to the Moscow City Court for consideration on June 26. The hearing was held behind closed doors, as the materials of the investigation were classified as "top secret".

Ilya Sachkov was arrested and imprisoned in a pre-trial detention center in September 2021. According to investigators, the founder of Group-IB passed on classified information about cyber threats to foreign intelligence agencies, thereby damaging Russia's interests. Sachkov himself does not admit his guilt.
