For the third time, the Kirovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sent the alleged leader of the Lurk hacker group, Konstantin Kozlovsky, for a psychological and psychiatric examination, which will be conducted at the Sverdlovsk Regional Psychiatric Hospital.
The goal is to find out whether he is sane and does not suffer from mental illness, the wife of the accused and his lawyer informed the EAN. The defendant himself and his hacker friends oppose the examination, fearing the bias of doctors, and demand video recording of all actions in a mental hospital.
“Please pay attention: the defendants are five years without a sentence; the charge is very weak; I receive threats (I am not going to end my life by suicide, I love my wife, Anna Kozlovskaya, and I want to go home), ”Mr. Kozlovsky said in his address. He added that interdepartmental subordination is strong in the Sverdlovsk region, which makes an investigation at the regional level “impossible and formal”.
According to the investigation, the Lurk hackers stole more than 1.7 billion rubles from the Russians with the help of created computer viruses (one of which was called Lurk - invisible). The leader of the group, Konstantin Kozlovsky, told the media that he and his friends worked under the cover of the FSB, and, on the instructions of its employee, interfered in the course of the US elections. In October 2020, Kozlovsky was released, but on March 18 he was again sent to a pre-trial detention center - for violating the terms of house arrest.
