During a hearing in the case of Russian citizen Alexander Vinnik in a French court, the prosecutor demanded that the accused be sentenced to ten years in prison and a fine of 750 thousand euros.

As reported by "RIA Novosti", the prosecutor called Vinnik "a very smart and capable pirate" and "conductor of the orchestra." The prosecution is sure that he gave orders and acted not alone.

Vinnik's defense continues to insist that the latter is not the organizer of the money laundering scheme or the creator of the Locky malware.

“The prosecutor’s office claims that Vinnik was the beneficiary of the work of this program on the BTC-e exchange, and considers him responsible. However, they have no proof that he is the owner of this program , ”said lawyer Frederic Belo.
He noted that the entire evidence base for the prosecution is based on information received from the American side.

The verdict on the case will not be delivered immediately - as Belo said, this will happen no earlier than in two weeks.

Recall that in France Vinnik is accused of extortion and money laundering.

Earlier, the Greek court granted the request for the extradition of the Russian at the request of three countries at once - the United States, Russia and France.
