The number of voice copying tool scams is on the rise. Criminals have a variety of AI training materials, including audio clips, podcasts, and online presentations. 45 minutes of sound is enough for the technology to learn to imitate a voice. This was reported by Fortune.

According to experts from the information security firm Secure Anchor, in just the last four months the number of such incidents has increased by 60%. 17 companies lost an average of $ 175,000 due to voice copying fraud, and in one case hackers gained access to enterprise IT systems.

Perhaps the best way to deal with such scammers is to develop protocols and rules governing the conditions for transferring funds, as well as setting limits on amounts. For example, after a call asking for money, passwords, or other important information, employees should confirm those requests by calling the caller's phone number from another phone.

Executives may also consider using interchangeable code words for money transfers. Fraudsters can copy the voice, but they are unlikely to be able to answer special questions.
