Crypto Capital CEO Ivan Manuel Molina Lee has been arrested by Polish authorities for membership in an international drug cartel and participating in money laundering using Bitfinex, several Polish news sites reported.
Crypto Capital was a company that Bitfinex allegedly entrusted $ 850 million, money that the exchange said it could not receive later. To cover losses in the amount of $ 850 million in May, the exchange sold symbolic tickets in the amount of $ 1 billion.

According to the National State Prosecutor’s Office, the money laundering operation was “the largest operation in the history of the Polish prosecutor’s office to ensure the security [confiscation] of property”.
